Senior Software Engineer, Yahoo! Mail front end team. If you’re a Javascript ninja, here’s your chance to get your work in front of millions of users, right now. We’re building cutting-edge photo viewing and social sharing features into Yahoo! Mail, a purely browser-based Javascript application with hundreds of millions of users. The stakes are high and the work is challenging— it’s all gotta work fast, look great in lots of browsers, and be maintainable and extensible with minimal code. We need your help, especially if you’re passionate about communication, social software, and photos.

Responsibilities will include significant engineering ownership in a complex client side application, including new feature work, improvements on existing code, debugging and investigation of user issues, and active participation in designing and shipping the product.

Minimum qualifications: – Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. – 3+ years of challenging professional software engineering experience, in web engineering, systems engineering, or desktop applications. (If you’re a recent grad, but you’re a rock star, we want to talk to you also.) – Strong analytical and debugging skills. – Excellent communications skills, teamwork, and independent motivation. – Passion for of any or all of: great user experiences, design, photography, social software, solving really hard engineering problems.

Preferred qualifications: – Strong command of browser-side client technologies including object-oriented Javascript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, cross-browser compatibility issues, optimization techniques and internationalization issues. – Track record of leadership in your work, as a manager or as a trustworthy go-to person for help or feedback.
