These are full-time Minneapolis-based salaried positions.
Portolanos LLC, a fully funded startup company based in Minneapolis,
is seeking front-end developers to join its core staff of developers, and visual thinkers.
The company is dedicated to inventing entirely new and often revolutionary
toolsets and visualizations that transform complex knowledge and systems into
interactive generative maps. Our large scale website will reinvent how
people interact and communicate complex knowledge.
We are looking for highly motivated professionals with significant experience with the Canvas API, ProcessingJS, CSS3, HTML5 and advanced JavaScript. Candidates will demonstrate sophisticated knowledge about the evolution of browser-based solutions, strong art+technology capabilities with generative visual arts, strong understanding of both 2d and 3d graphics programming, that understands how to work with complex datasets and generative engines. Candidates should have a very eclectic set of interests that may include generative sound, modern societal problems, cognitive and social sciences, and systems modeling. The candidates will be expected to develop a familiarity with WebGL and Mozilla’s Audio Data API.
These developers will be in charge of developing complex data-driven dynamic visualization systems. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to start at the origin of a revolutionary large-scale effort to radically change the direction of the web – to
