ideeli are looking for a Rails / Javascript UI Guru in New York - SoHo
Responsibilities
We’re looking for someone who loves doing challenging stuff client side. You think it’s cool to take a data feed from the server and dynamically build and rebuild the presentation of that data customized to the user. You know prototype well, even if you prefer jquery. You can make your code work well on all browsers (and unfortunately, yes, we still mean IE6). You’ve done exciting UI work before. You want millions of people to be using your code. You want to work hard in a fast paced environment with very smart people.
So, that’s you who are we? ideeli is an exciting, venture-funded community/commerce company implemented entirely in Ruby on Rails. We used to call ourselves a startup, but are now edging out of that category; we’ve been around for a few years and have real users and real revenues. Nevertheless, we still believe in small teams, agile development, quick turnaround, and getting things done.

Qualifications
- Significant experience with RoR projects/web development on highly stylized sites
- Awesome with DOM, Javascript, HTML, CSS, AJAX
- Ability to work in a small, geographically-distributed team using collaboration tools (Skype, IM, email, mingle)
- Must be detail-oriented and thorough in designing, coding and testing
- Must be able to provide and explain code samples of previous work
- Familiarity with subversion
- Workday overlap with Eastern time zone (UTC-5) and/or GMT
- Test Driven Development
- MySQL Development
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience developing JS/UI tests
