313 <strong>Location:</strong> Silicon Valley, CA<br /><strong>URL:</strong> <a href="http://mixpanel.com">http://mixpanel.com</a><br /><br /><strong>Description:</strong><br /> <p>Mixpanel is a real-time analytics service that helps companies understand how users interact with web applications and is located in Mountain View, California.</p> <p>Our investors include Max Levchin (Co-founder of PayPal and Slide), Michael and Xochi Birch (Founders of Bebo), and YCombinator.</p> <p><strong>Working for Mixpanel</strong></p> <p>Everyone at Mixpanel wears lots of hats meaning you&#8217;ll be doing many different things, from tweaking front-end UI to scaling our system to handle billions of requests. We use a mix and match of traditional technology and bleeding edge software: nginx, Django, memcached, git, Thrift, MySQL, Python, Erlang, &#8220;NoSQL&#8221; open source software, etc.</p> <p>Both founders are developers and we&#8217;re looking for another engineer who can help us develop a strong engineering culture. As one of our first hires you will have a huge impact on the product and the company itself.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>You will have total ownership of pieces of product you ship to our production environment. At times you may find yourself writing a feature front (UI) to back (backend). This is a position of significant responsibility and has the potential to grow into a strong leadership role within the company.</p> <ul> <li>Python or an equivalent language (e.g. Ruby, <span class="caps">PHP</span>, Java, etc.).</li> <li>Proper experience with a <span class="caps">UNIX</span> environment</li> <li>Experience with version control (git is a plus)</li> <li>Significant experience with Javascript.
